Last night, there was another very strong solar storm (classified as G4 intensity by NOAA) that was visible from Cedarville! It was so beautiful to see! God's creation is magnificent.

Got a local LLM up and running on my laptop! It's running entirely on my laptop's hardware, without an internet connection. I'm running an 8 billion parameter version of Deepseek R1-distilled Llama 3. It's not a remarkably intelligent model, but it is capable of some fun creative writing tasks!
In this photo, the model is going through its thinking process before composing its full answer. The prompt I used was "Write a short epic poem about the 2018 film 'Avengers: Infinity War.'"

Do you ever feel like you're living in a bubble?
We live in an age where it can be challenging to distinguish fact from fiction, and it can be all too easy to fall into an echo chamber.

Found a zinker on a visit to the Cedarville North Cemetery! This kind of tombstone can be easily identified by the pale-blue color that it develops over time, as well as the hollow metallic sound they make if you knock on them.
It's actually not a stone at all, but rather it is made out of zinc. At the time when these were produced (1874-1914), they were marketed as "white bronze". Despite being marketed as a cheaper alternative to more traditional tombstones, zinkers actually tend to survive longer than traditional tombstones.
Rest in peace, Mr. Huffines.

Certainly a unique crossover.

Was browsing a record store a little while ago. Never heard of this Billie Eyelash woman but I guess people like her stuff.

Took this picture a few months ago, at the beginning of this summer! An unusually strong solar storm hit the US, so the northern lights could be seen from where I lived. So pretty!
