I've been into Star Trek since I was a child! The Star Trek influence in my life has actually never been from my friends -- most of my friends lean more on the Star Wars side, and we agree to disagree on that. ;)

Rather, it was my parents who got me into Star Trek at an early age. I grew up watching Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Star Trek: Voyager. All four of these shows have strong sentimental value for me, but my favorite of them all is Star Trek: Voyager, and that's the one which I mostly watch today. :)
 

I think what I like most about Star Trek is the strong worldbuilding, specifically the development of the alien cultures in the shows. I've never been a huge fan of the Star Trek movies, but there's one or two which I'll watch every once in a while.
